NOW WELCOMING NEW PATIENTS!

Emily Bauer

Surgery Assistant
Emily joined the Family Pet Hospital of Shawnee team in 2024 as the clinic’s passionate surgery assistant, dedicated to the wellbeing of animals. Emily’s journey in animal medicine began at the Lawrence Humane Society, where she supported the medical staff team, animal services team, and served as an on-call animal services officer for Douglas County responding to after-hours calls for emergency services. This is where her love for animals blossomed into a career.
Driven by a desire to further her education, Emily made the transition from animal sheltering and public safety to generalized private practice veterinary medicine and while continuing her studies. Emily is currently undergoing studies to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Emily hopes to specialize in emergency medicine. Her passion lies in providing swift and effective care to animals in critical situations.
Outside of work, Emily’s commitment to animals extends to her own furry family. She shares her home with her partner and three cats. Each of their pets have a unique story and different special needs. Emily’s dedication to her pets is evident in her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure their health and happiness. She has even assisted in surgeries for two of her cats, providing them with the love and care they need to thrive.
With her blend of expertise, compassion, and dedication, Emily is a valued member of Family Pet Hospital of Shawnee, making a positive impact on the lives of animals and their owners every day.
